"The X Factor" will kick off open-call auditions for its season three March 6 in California.
Auditions for solo artists and vocal groups ages 12 and over (as of Jan. 1, 2013) begin at the Galen Center at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. Registration for this venue is March 4-5.
The reality singing competition returns next fall on Fox.
Additional dates, places and registration dates include:
March 19 - North Charleston, S.C., Coliseum, registration March 17-18.
April 14 - New Orleans, La., venue to be decided, registration April 12-13;
April 25 – Long Island, N.Y., venue to be decided, registration April 23-24.
May 14 – Denver, Colo., venue to be decided, registration May 12-13.
Online auditions will continue through June 15 at
tulsaworld.com/xfactorauditions2013 and potential contestants can pre-register for the five live auditions.
If you are under 18 at the time of your audition, a parent or guardian will need to register on your behalf. Each group must have one authorized registrant who is over age 18 or have a parent or guardian of one of its members register for the group. You must be a legal resident of the United States.
Registration requires: Personal information, submission of an intro video and submission of a two-minute audition video.
On the video, state your name, the title of the song you are singing and then sing the song a capella, with no backing tracks. The total length of the video can not be more than 2 minutes.
If you are selected, a producer from the show will contact you by phone or e-mail during and after the online audition phase closes June 15, 2013. Check the website for more rules and information.
