Country music fans and some of its biggest stars are pushing to make history with
George Strait as he closes in on his 60th career No. 1 hit.
The #
60for60 campaign for "
Give It All We Got Tonight" also hopes to hit the mark before Strait's 61st birthday on May 18.
The campaign started on Strait's Facebook page back on Valentine's Day and the single quickly became fastest certified Gold single of Strait’s career. It now sits in the Top 15 on the country radio charts.
It is the first single from his forthcoming album, due for release in late spring. Strait also has more No. 1 hits than any artist in any genre in history.
Country music stars including Little Big Town, Luke Bryan, Josh Turner, Darius Rucker and more have joined the #
60for60 movement, too. Fans can learn more at

Strait has sold more than 68 million albums in his career that spans more than three decades.
So far, Strait has sold out 16 venues on the 2013 leg his final
The Cowboy Rides Away Tour, including record-breaking attendance figures in Knoxville, Tenn., Lexington, Ky., San Antonio and Houston.
