Pearl and diamond pendant set in 14-karat white gold, accented with diamonds from Cunningham Fine Jewelry.

Diamond and ruby earrings set in 14-karat white gold from Cunningham Fine Jewelry.

In Tuesday's paper, I told y'all about some ruby and diamond earrings -- and I had the gall not to actually show you. My humble apologies.

They're gorgeous little things to be auctioned off during this year's "Denim to Diamonds," 6-11 p.m. July 30 at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa.

A fundraiser for the Retired Senior Volunteer Program, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, "Denim to Diamonds" invites folks to pair their best bling with jeans for a night featuring fabulous food, desserts, both live and silent auctions, and a diamond dig sponsored by Cunningham Fine Jewelry, 5211 E. 41st St.

In addition to that glittery little rock dig, Cunningham is also providing two amazing items for the auction, Vicki Cunningham told me. The first is a pair of diamond and ruby earrings set in 14-karat white gold. Each earring holds one oval-shaped, genuine ruby surrounded by round, single-cut diamonds. Retail value: $895.

The other item is an elegant pearl and diamond pendant set in 14-karat white gold. The 7-millimeter pearl is accented with 35 round, brilliant-cut diamonds. The pendant is
attached to a 16-inch box chain. Retail value: $795.

Money raised at “Denim to Diamonds” will support RSVP's many programs that engage more than 1,500 area individuals ages 55 and older while supporting more than 270 agencies.

Tickets are $80 each. To reserve yours, or for more information, call 918-280-8656.

Peace, love and shiny things ... XOXO

Living Wright

While other kids were watching "The Smurfs," Scene Writer Jason Ashley Wright was tuned in to "Style with Elsa Klensch." By fourth grade, he knew he wanted to write, and spent almost three years publishing a weekly teen-oriented magazine, Teen-Zine -- circulation: 2. After earning a degree in journalism from the University of Southern Mississippi, he became the medical reporter and teen board coordinator for the Hattiesburg (Miss.) American, a Gannett newspaper. Eight months later, with visions of Elsa dancing in his head, he applied for the fashion writer position at the Tulsa World, where he began working on Aug. 3, 1998. He is now a general assignment reporter for Scene.
