"Glee," Fox’s musical dramedy series, is reportedly going to tackle the rock opera "Tommy" in a future episode, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Co-creator Ryan Murphy is working on an episode built around the 1969 quintessential rock opera, reported the newspaper Wednesday.

"Tommy," based on a double album by the British rock band The Who, is about a "deaf, dumb and blind boy" who, traumatized by his parents murdering his mother's lover, becomes a wizard at pinball and the object of a religious cult, according to imdb.com.

"Tommy" became both a film and a stage play winning numerous accolades including an Oscar nomination and a Golden Globe win for Ann-Margret as Mrs. Walker in the 1975 movie and an Oscar nomination for Pete Townshend for Original Song Score and/or Adaptation. Directed by Ken Russell, the film also starred The Who’s Roger Daltrey along with Elton John and Tina Turner.

"The Who" bandmates Daltrey and Townshend are expected to be a part of the episode, according to the article.

Ann-Margret’s character Mrs. Walker loses her mind in this scene from the rock opera "Tommy."

Rita Sherrow grew up with TV. Yes, it was the ever-present “sister” from another techno mother. At first look, it was instant "Like." From then on, the TV had to be on in every room while she studied, elementary school through college. An Air Force brat, she attended school in three states (Oklahoma, Montana and Georgia) and two foreign countries (Germany and Bermuda) and graduated from Broken Arrow High School and the University of Tulsa with a degree in journalism/advertising. She first interned in the advertising world but, when a J-School professor (who also covered politics for the Tulsa World) offered her an internship at the newspaper, she took him up on it. The rest is history. She has served as bridal editor, senior features writer for the women’s section, food editor and is television editor of the Tulsa World. In addition to writing about TV shows and interviewing the stars for “Scene” stories, she also writes a TV column for Weekend and produces the Sunday TV World listings magazine.
