Goodwill toward men -- with sprinkles on top

Hopefully, my ice cream cone and I won't be kicked out of Baskin-Robbins.

Several years ago, I was apparently hungrier than usual and, according to management, was being rude with how I was consuming my double-scoop ice cream cone. I won't offend with details (mostly because I wasn't aware I was doing anything wrong), but it wasn't until this summer that I went back -- to a different location, of course.

And now there's another Baskin-Robbins in which I can embarrass myself! Haven't you heard? Woodland Hills Mall recently opened a B-R (not to be confused with my beloved Banana Republic, which is just BR, no hyphen), as well as a Goodwill Donation Center and a Baskin-Robbins. So now, you can buff your karma with a clothing donation, then reward yourself afterward in the same day.

Baskin-Robbins, home of the original 31 flavors, is open next to Cinnabon on the upper level in the Macy's wing. And the manned Goodwill Donation Center is in the Pine Cone parking lot by the outer-ring road. It will be open 9 a.m.- 6:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 12-6 p.m. Sunday. Goodwill Industries of Tulsa Inc. accepts donations of gently used or new clothing, shoes, books and household goods.

Peace, love and two scoops of chocolate-dipped charity ... xoxo

Living Wright

While other kids were watching "The Smurfs," Scene Writer Jason Ashley Wright was tuned in to "Style with Elsa Klensch." By fourth grade, he knew he wanted to write, and spent almost three years publishing a weekly teen-oriented magazine, Teen-Zine -- circulation: 2. After earning a degree in journalism from the University of Southern Mississippi, he became the medical reporter and teen board coordinator for the Hattiesburg (Miss.) American, a Gannett newspaper. Eight months later, with visions of Elsa dancing in his head, he applied for the fashion writer position at the Tulsa World, where he began working on Aug. 3, 1998. He is now a general assignment reporter for Scene.
