Get ready for a bloody season finale on "Grey's Anatomy" Thursday on ABC.
In a six-minute "first look," Seattle Grace Hospital surgeons Meredith (Ellen Pompeo), Derek (Patrick Dempsey), Cristina (Sandrah Oh), Lexie (Chyler Leigh), Mark (Eric Dane) and Arizona (Jessica Chapsaw) are seen in the aftermath of last week’s plane crash. Some are missing, others wounded and in shock. But all must fight to stay alive to save their colleagues. Inevitably, one will die.
It shouldn’t come as any surprise.
Executive producer/creator Shonda Rhimes already told fans someone would die in the season finale and "Grey's" star Jesse Williams (Jackson Avery on the show) echoed the news saying in a previous report "We're going to lose somebody that we love."
"It's a big death and it's fairly shocking," Rhimes recently told hollywoodreporter, com.
"It was hard, it was hard to write, it was hard to listen to at the table read. It is a difficult thing to do and not done lightly. When one of your main characters dies, it always affects the heart and soul of the hospital."
Also in the episode, Bailey and Ben make a decision about their relationship, Teddy gets a tempting offer and Richard plans a special dinner for the residents. The season finale airs at 8 p.m. Thursday on ABC, channel 8.
"Grey's" will return in its same Thursday time slot in the fall.
