Long ago, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts professed their love for rock ‘n’ roll. It’s time to see if the feeling runs both ways. Jett joins a list of nominees for 2012 induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, announced Tuesday.
Jett also will perform 7 p.m. Nov. 18 at Tulsa’s River Spirit Casino. The Spinners are also hall of fame nominees this year. They will perform in Tulsa, 7 p.m. Sept. 16 at the River Spirit Event Center. Learn more about those shows at tulsaworld.com/riverspirit.
Other acts nominated for possible induction include Heart, and Rufus with Chaka Khan, along with Guns N’ Roses, Eric B. & Rakim, The Cure, The Small Faces/The Faces, Freddie King, the Beastie Boys, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Donna Summer, Laura Nyro, Donovan and War.
An act must have released its first single or album 25 years ago to qualify for induction. The winners will be inducted into the hall of fame in Cleveland on April 14.
