"Morning Star" is a beautiful first-person-shooter game that aims to revolutionize games on iOS.

Whoa. That's the first word that came to mind when watching the trailer for the new game from Industrial Toys called "Morning Star." The second thing was a question: "This is an iOS game?" Although the iOS platform has allowed for some really beautiful games in the past - such as Infinity Blade more recently, Temple Run 2 - this one seems to be breaking all the barriers. In their announcement on it from last December, they crowed about what they were trying to do: "Our totally unreasonable goal is to completely change the expectations core gamers have for their mobile games." Unreasonable goal, indeed. If anyone can pull it off though, it's these guys.

You may not recognize the name Industrial Toys (Morning Star is their first game), but I'm sure you recognize their owner, Alex Seropian. No? Okay, here's a hint: Bungie. Yes, that Bungie, as in the creators of the infamous "Halo" series. Seropian is one of the original founders of Bungie and looks to be changing the game (no pun intended) again with this new venture. His success with the Master Chief has given him plenty of street cred among parties who might be necessary to get this game off the ground. Oh, but it's get better.

In addition to Seropian, there's Tim Harris (Seven Lights founder) and Brent Pease (Bungie San Jose) rounding out the founding group. Almost immediately, they began hiring a slew of veterans in the gaming and comic industries, including sci-fi writer John Scalzi, Marvel's Mike Choi and DC's Phil Tan. But rather than enlist Scalzi and Choi exclusively for the game, Industrial Toys is going deeper with a graphic novel app. Yes, an app. An interactive graphic novel app called "Morning Star Alpha" for your tablet that will affect the outcome of the game, and vice versa.

Say it with me: "Whoa."

"Morning Star" has no launch date yet, but feel free to check out the trailer below. Feel like registering for the game early? Do that here.
