Hat's Off to Christa

We like to recognize exceptional restaurant service when possible, and this might be the best avenue when I'm not working. So, hat's off to Christa at P.F. Chang's in Utica Square.

We recently had an occasion for a family gathering of six diners. Each ordered something different, and two or three asked for substitutions or exceptions to the regular menu.

Christa took the order without writing anything on paper. She's not the first server I've seen do this, but it always is impressive. Moreso in the fact that when the food arrived, she was on hand to point out where each dish was to be served around the table, and she was flawless.

She returned often enough -- and the place was packed -- to make sure all was going well, yet never was intrusive. An all-around good job.

We will ask for Christa next time. When we go there we always sit at the bar because the floor service has almost always been week at best. The first and only time I did not leave a tip was at PF Chang's.

unless your waitperson raped and pillaged you on the floor of the restaurant there is no reason to not leave a tip.
