Have some fun at the last Drillers games of the year

I can't remember if the Drillers won or lost at the last game I went to this summer. It's a terrible thing to admit, but I'm afraid I was paying closer attention to the concessions and the kids zone than I was the game.

The last home games of the year are upon us. Tuesday through Labor Day, the Drillers will play a seven-game homestand at ONEOK Field.

If you're a baseball fan, certainly go for the games. The Drillers play four games against the Springfield Cardinals and three games against the Northwest Arkansas Naturals.

But even if you don't know a fly ball from a homerun, these last Drillers games will be a lot of fun.

Tuesday
Cheap tickets and cheap food will draw a crowd on Tuesday. General admission tickets are $2 and other tickets are $3 off the regular price. Also, all of these foods and drinks will be sold for $2 each: hot dogs, Mazzio's pizza slices, 21-ounce Pepsi and jumbo soft pretzels.

Wednesday
Retired and active military will receive half price general admission tickets Wednesday. Be sure to have military ID.

Thursday
Beer specials are on tap Thursday. Also look for two-for-one Siegi's bratwursts.

Friday
Friday nights are always popular at ONEOK Field, but it will be especially true at this, the final Friday night fireworks display of the year.

Saturday
Check out a special appearance by the Phillie Phanatic. Everyone will receive a Drillers 2012 schedule magnet at the stadium entrance.

Sunday
Meet the players and get autographs on Family Funday Sunday. The first 500 kids will receive a coupon for a free hot dog, milk and ice cream. And, if you missed Friday's fireworks, this will be the final display of the season.

Monday
It's fan appreciation day, so expect prizes and surprises.

Once you're there…
Along with great baseball, it's the peanuts, the Cracker Jacks and the hot dogs that make game days so much fun. Here are five concessions not to miss:
1. Bratwurst. This is real-deal bratwurst from Tulsa's own Siegi's. Share a foot-long, and top it with spicy mustard.
2. Philly cheese steak nachos. Yes, you read that right. It's the best of both worlds: the trimmings of a Philly cheese steak sprinkled over nacho chips.
3. Bubba Q sandwich. Pulled pork and brisket are smoked on site in a big black smoker that tempts most people by smell alone.
4. Popcorn. This isn't specially seasoned gourmet popcorn. It's just a basic, good popcorn that seems to taste even better when you’re watching the game. It's even better with an ice cold drink.
5. Ice cream sundae helmet. How often can you eat ice cream out of a hat and then take the hat home with you? Only at a baseball game can you get your fill of an ice cream sundae with all your favorite toppings for under $5.

What "beautiful people"? For the most part, it's freak show out there - tattoos, rolls of fat, pot bellies, bulging cleavage...

ok, i guess i should have used quotation marks around the "beautiful people" statement. rolls of fat? pot bellies? you've seen me and my buddy! say hey next time!!!

Wish you would have included a few of the great vegetarian items on the list, such as the fantastic Boca Burgers they serve at the park. There are still a lot of vegetarians in Tulsa that don't go to the games because they think there is nothing to eat there.
Shumlaw, you're right. You may know this, but PETA named the Drillers and ONEOK Field in the Top 10 Vegetarian-Friendly Minor League Ballparks in the country.
