It's powerpop havoc. And this excites me. Seriously, watch this clip and listen to the single.

If you like classic glossy powerpop acts like Redd Kross, The Knack, and, ahem, Cheap Trick and Fountains of Wayne, well ... this cheesy promo will totally light your fire. Dig the eerily "Seinfeld"-ian host.

As you read first on tulsaworld.com, Tinted Windows unveils its lineup -- live -- at a Cain's Ballroom show on Bob's side stage on March 18 (show is $5, get your tickets NOW). The act will debut for the world on March 20 at South by Southwest.

Hear the new single, "Kind of a Girl," featuring Tinted Windows members Taylor Hanson, James Iha (Smashing Pumpkins), Adam Schlesinger (Fountains of Wayne) and Bun E. Carlos (Cheap Trick) at Rolling Stone's "Smoking Section" blog.

Barrelhouse Beat

Barrelhouse: A colloquialism describing the low saloons at the turn of the century (19th) that served whiskey straight out of the barrel. It's also a reference to the type of music played in those venues. Ex: Barrelhouse music.

Beat: The time or timing. Ex: The band played with a solid beat. Also used as a term describing a reporters specific area of expertise. Ex: The music beat.

About me: I'm Okie born and raised, and have lived all over the state: Oklahoma City, Enid, Moore, Norman, Edmond and Tulsa. I am a music geek, writer, graphic designer and amateur photographer and videographer who's followed the Tulsa and regional music scene since I moved to Green Country more than 10 years ago.
