Chris Colfer's career has been "Struck by Lightning."

The multi-talented star of Fox's "Glee" adds feature film writer and movie star to his resume with his debut film "Struck by Lightning" (which he wrote).

This story was posted a couple of weeks ago but the film's press representative insisted the video trailer was not official and asked the Tulsa World, and other outlets, to pull it. We did.

Finally, the "official" trailer was released today.

In "Struck by Lightning," Colfer plays a high school senior who will stop at nothing to achieve his dream of getting into Northwestern University and becoming the editor of "The New Yorker." Even if that means blackmailing his classmates to write for his startup literary magazine so he can beef up his college applications.

Classmates that include some familiar TV faces like Sarah Hyland ("Modern Family"), Ashley Richards ("Awkward") and adult castmates Allison Janney ("Juno"), Dermot Mulroney ("New Girl"), Christina Hendricks ("Mad Men") and Angela Kinsey ("The Office") plus "Bridesmaids'" Rebel Wilson and Polly Bergen.

Colfer has also written a Disney pilot and another feature film and is a best-selling author, according to Zap2it.com.

"Glee," in which the actor stars as newly-graduated Lima, Ohio, senior Kurt, airs at 8 p.m. Thursdays on Fox, channel 23, cable 5.

The film is set for release in December by Tribeca Film.

Here’s the official trailer for the upcoming film.

Rita Sherrow grew up with TV. Yes, it was the ever-present “sister” from another techno mother. At first look, it was instant "Like." From then on, the TV had to be on in every room while she studied, elementary school through college. An Air Force brat, she attended school in three states (Oklahoma, Montana and Georgia) and two foreign countries (Germany and Bermuda) and graduated from Broken Arrow High School and the University of Tulsa with a degree in journalism/advertising. She first interned in the advertising world but, when a J-School professor (who also covered politics for the Tulsa World) offered her an internship at the newspaper, she took him up on it. The rest is history. She has served as bridal editor, senior features writer for the women’s section, food editor and is television editor of the Tulsa World. In addition to writing about TV shows and interviewing the stars for “Scene” stories, she also writes a TV column for Weekend and produces the Sunday TV World listings magazine.
