I have a book on my desk that puts the "happy" back in Happy Holidays.

I have laughed out loud several times today looking down at another open page. So, I thought I’d stop interrupting my nearby co-worker, Jason Ashley Wright, and blog about it.

“Wreck the Halls: Cake Wrecks Gets Festive” by Jen Yates is the sequel to Yates’ New York Times bestselling debut, “Cake Wrecks: When Professional Cakes Go Hilariously Wrong.”

Many might recognize her work from her award winning Cake Wrecks blog.

What is funnier than misshapen, poorly decorated cakes with misspelled messages scrawled on them in icing?!?!
As if they aren’t funny enough on their own, Yates adds commentary to the pictures.

Seriously, it makes me wonder whether they need better ventilation in many of the bakeries where these cakes and cookies were decorated. Perhaps, prolonged exposure to large quantities of icing induces a contact high, dizziness and psychedelic cake decorating.

It’s something the Office of the Surgeon General should at least look into.

However, with all of the stress of the holidays, it’s nice to find something that makes you laugh.

And it kind makes me wish I had digital photos of poorly decorated cakes from my Christmas past.

So here is hoping that you find something to laugh at this season, even if it is a recipe that went wrong or a Santa cake that looks a little kooky.

"Season's Greedings" may be more truth than either of us cares to admit...too funny and a great gift idea, Nicole.

For more self amusement, but of the non food related kind, go to craigslist and check out some of the spelling. Found some hilarious ads while looking for an "armour", "rod iron bed" and "chester drawers" made by "Henry Don".
