You knew it was going to happen.
Sooner rather than later "shock jock" Howard Stern of radio fame was bound to make a contestant cry on “America’s Got Talent.”
It happened last night.
Stern, a first-time judge on NBC's summer reality TV competition show, was the first to hit the buzzer on seven-year-old Mir Money. The aspiring rapper charmed the crowd and the judges. Stern was the first to vote to oust the contestant with an "X" buzzer followed by judge Sharon Osbourne.
When the radio show host tried to explain why he didn't think the child had the talent to move on in the show, the waterworks began.
Mir Money started crying, the crowd started booing and even Stern was moved, heading quickly to the stage to give the child a hug and tell him how brave he thought he was for going on stage.
"Let me fix everything. I'm sorry, I'm so sorry, Stern told the youngster. "Mir Money, you’re a terrific kid, you know that? You are so brave... I’m going to be honest with you I don’t want to make you cry."
The pep talk worked, Money calmed down and was carried off stage by show host Nick Cannon. But it has an obvious effect on Stern.
"This job is too rough for me, I don't really wanna do it anymore…I'm not cut out for this, man. I'm not cut out for it. I'm shaking man, I'm shaking. I can't do it, man. I can't do it."
Just for the record, Stern is not leaving the show.
