"American Idol" winner Phillip Phillips. NINO MUNOZ/Fox
Phillip Phillips, whose "American Idol"-winning song "Home" has already gone gold with more than 500,000 singles sold, can rest assured that its has been heard by up to an estimated one billion people as NBC's anthem for its coverage of Olympics women's gymnastics.
And, just recently, the "Home" video was released to the public.
The video, which was directed by Joseph Toman, weaves images of Phillips on the tour bus and in a pawn shop (his family owns one in Leesburg, Ga.) with black and white footage of American landscapes, according to hollywoodreporter.com.
The video also includes his longtime girlfriend Hannah Blackwell, who has been "a semi-regular presence on the tour," reported the web site.
Phillips said an interview after his "Idol" win that he isn't worried about losing female fans because he has a girlfriend.
"If girls like me because I'm cute, and then don't like me when they find out I have a girlfriend or something, then it wasn't about the music. I'd rather be all about the music."
