Marvel released four new images from “Iron Man 3” on Friday, including the first photo of British actress Rebecca Hall from the movie.
Hall plays Dr. Maya Hansen, the inventor of the Extremis virus, another attempt at creating a super soldier. In the Extremis comic storyline, the virus “hacks the body’s repair center” and causes a person’s body to rewrite itself, giving them superpowers. Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr., shown in another image released Friday) undergoes a re-engineered version of the virus that gives him the ability to interact directly with computers and other electronic systems. It also allows Stark to store his armor’s undersheath in his bones (an upgraded version of the armor is later stored completely in Stark’s body).
The other photos show a shattered Iron Man helmet in the hands of Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow), an image that was seen in
the trailer for the movie, and a close-up look of the Iron Patriot armor worn by War Machine (Don Cheadle).
“Iron Man 3” is set to be released May 3.
