A lot of interesting news has popped up lately regarding the new Iron Man 3 movie. Specifically, news about the possible change of Pepper Pott's role from damsel to hero.
In a recent interview with
Nerd Reactor, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige had this to say about the new movie:
“In this movie we play with the convention of the damsel in distress. We are bored by the damsel in distress. But, sometimes we need our hero to be desperate enough in fighting for something other than just his own life. So, there is fun to be had with “Is Pepper in danger or is Pepper the savior?” While this might be meant in terms of their relationship, I have a feeling that he may be hinting at something a bit more dramatic.
I believe Pepper Potts will become Iron Woman in the new movie.
I tend not to call things, but we've heard Gweneth Paltrow talk about her dislike for the role she was given in the Avengers movie, and we've also seen this image in the trailer.

This may seem like a torture device, but in the same trailer, we see the movie's villain creating suited fighters for the movie.

So unless she's simply the 'damsel in distress' and this is simply a restraint for her, we may see the Iron Woman blast into the movie to save Tony.
