In light of recent local tour postponements and other things, I though I'd look at other world-touring artists who have canceled or postponed shows in recent months:

Madonna just postponed the first of four shows in Argentina, citing equipment shipping delays.

Vince Neil recently announced that he's canceled European solo tour dates, "reportedly due to a combination of low ticket sales and the recent closure of La Riviera venue in Madrid," reported Starpulse.

Live Earth India concert canceled on Nov. 30 after terrorist attacks in that country.

Van Halen postponed a handful of shows in March while guitarist Eddie Van Halen "was under a doctor's care," receiving treatment for an undisclosed condition.

Smashing Pumpkins recently rescheduled its Auditorium Theatre performance in Chicago, citing illness with lead singer Billy Corgan.

Nine Inch Nails postponed a tour stop in Worcester, Mass., on Aug. 8 was moved to Nov. 9, due to a recurring throat ailment.

Janet Jackson postponed several shows earlier this fall because of vertigo and other illness.

Tulsa shows that have been postponed or canceled this year:

Lil Wayne: Emergency dental surgery, several tour shows rescheduled.

Celine Dion: Throat problems, several tour shows rescheduled, including Tulsa show on Feb. 2.

Trace Adkins: Undisclosed illness, rescheduled for Feb. 19.

Duran Duran: Ear infection, three tour shows canceled.

Willie Nelson (second show date): Undisclosed reasons, one Tulsa show canceled.

Ryan Adams (third time to postpone or cancel a Tulsa show): Undisclosed illness, two tour shows canceled.

Emmylou Harris: Death in the family, rest of American tour scrapped

Bow Wow: Scheduling conflicts, and rescheduled show was later canceled.

Corbin Bleu: Undisclosed reasons, "under circumstances that were beyond my control," Bleu posted to his Web site.

G. Love and Special Sauce: Canceled for recurring flu-like illness, cancels a string of tour dates.

The Kooks: Undisclosed illness, cancels several midwest tour dates.

There are probably more I've forgotten. I just thought it might be interesting to see who has bowed out and for what reasons. Hmmmm. Methinks an ailing economy may have something to do with these tour hiccups, too.
