Bands, if you wanna be considered to play Dfest this year, you better move -- submissions are due Friday.

This is the 8th year of the Dfest (Diversafest) music festival and industry conference, July 24-25 in downtown Tulsa. It is the largest festival of its type in the Midwest.

While Dfest features around 20 headliners each year (past acts include Paramore, Flaming Lips, Ghostland Observatory, The Roots, Zappa Plays Zappa, Disco Biscuits and more) on two large outdoor festival stages, Dfest also showcases around 130 unsigned and emerging artists from across the country on a multitude of stages in music venues in downtown Tulsa's Blue Dome District.

There are two ways to apply: Artists need only choose ONE. One is via the official Dfest Web site, the other is via SonicBids.

If you go through the official Dfest site, note: First, register your band in the Dfest Artist Info Database located at http://artists.dfest.info/login/main.php. Second, follow instructions to include your confirmation email and, third, snail mail a complete presskit with bio/photo/press clippings, application fee of $15.00 and a CD with 3 or more songs and mail your complete package to the Dfest Post Office Box.

Submissions are due Friday, March 27.

Fueled by a diverse collection of national and top local acts, the high-energy music festival broke attendance records in 2008 and is positioned to be even larger in 2009.
