Broken Arrow musician J.D. McPherson will bring his solo act to the "Conan" late night show, 10 p.m. June 6 on TBS, Cox cable channel 47.

He tweeted confirmation Monday night, "We'll be performing on CONAN June 6th. I've been a fan of his stuff since his first late nite show. Honored. @ConanOBrien @teamcoco"

He's also scheduled to perform two upcoming Tulsa tour dates (below).

Last month, Broken McPherson's album "Signs & Signifiers" got its official major label American debut from Rounder Records.

His distinctive brand of roots-infused rock and soul has won fans the world over. The 35-year-old has gone global, winning fans as diverse as Bruce Springsteen, Nick Lowe and Tom Waits.

"This album has legs," a somewhat stunned McPherson said during a recent telephone interview. The singer-songwriter was in New York City recently for two shows before making tour stops in Boston and Montreal.

He's also prepping for two rare local concerts: a headlining slot May 19 at Tulsa International Mayfest and a co-headline slot with Broncho at the Music for the Mother Road concert June 13 at Cain's Ballroom.

He recorded "Signs & Signifiers" in an attic studio at Chicago's Hi-Style Records in 2010. It picked up steam and even made the Tulsa World's list of "best albums" that year, and it raked even more accolades in 2011.

A grassroots network of music lovers from across the globe have pulled together to support McPherson. Most of them are people he's never met, from Brazil to Chicago. Many of them are his own music idols.

"Wade Kramer of MC5 and Tom Morello (Rage Against the Machine) were asking to play 'North Side Gal' at South by Southwest," he said. "That was crazy."
