Jenna Dewan-Tatum talked friendship and falling in love with her "Step Up" co-star and People's "Sexiest Man Alive" husband Channing Tatum in a recent "Access Hollywood Live" interview, reported zap2it.com Tuesday.
"It was actually a really good friendship and then good chemistry but we didn’t really end up doing anything or being together until afterward,” she told host Billy Bush and co-host Scott Wolf.
They were good friends first and then "something blossomed," she said.
The couple married in 2009 and their press representatives confirmed later Monday to People magazine that they are expecting a baby next year.
On the show, Dewan-Tatum also talked about the different moment Tatum chose to tell his wife he was being named sexiest man alive.
"We were washing our dog who had just been skunked… and he said, 'Oh yeah babe, by the way, People is giving me the sexiest man alive."
“'What!!' I said. He's calm about it but I'm freaking out and telling everyone."
She was on "AHL" to talk about her next film - a true life story titled "She Made Them Do It." It airs at December 29 on Lifetime, cable 36.
Dewan-Tatum, who appeared opposite Maroon 5’s Adam Levine in the season opener of FX's "American Horror Story, acted a bit coy when asked about children in the couple’s future.
"Well we definitely want a family. Whenever it's meant to be," she said.

Rita Sherrow grew up with TV. Yes, it was the ever-present “sister” from another techno mother. At first look, it was instant "Like." From then on, the TV had to be on in every room while she studied, elementary school through college. An Air Force brat, she attended school in three states (Oklahoma, Montana and Georgia) and two foreign countries (Germany and Bermuda) and graduated from Broken Arrow High School and the University of Tulsa with a degree in journalism/advertising. She first interned in the advertising world but, when a J-School professor (who also covered politics for the Tulsa World) offered her an internship at the newspaper, she took him up on it. The rest is history. She has served as bridal editor, senior features writer for the women’s section, food editor and is television editor of the Tulsa World. In addition to writing about TV shows and interviewing the stars for “Scene” stories, she also writes a TV column for Weekend and produces the Sunday TV World listings magazine.
