Kardashian sham or part of the plan?
I'll admit it. I'm guilty of reading the BREAKING news yesterday about Kim Kardashian's impending
divorce from her fairy tale prince, NBA player Kris Humphries -- but not all 3,000 web reports. That's more online coverage than some major news events get.
I've read many of today's blogs, articles, reports, and legitimate news stories on the backlash from this "stunning" development. It's my job, right?
But what disturbs me more than the enormous estimated paycheck these people netted from their "wedding" -- reportedly in the neighborhood of $15 to $18 million in endorsements, paid magazine spreads and a 20-carat diamond -- is that the Kardashian train keeps on rolling.
Now, Huffington Post and US Weekly are among many entertainment sites reporting that Kim's little sis,
Kendall Jenner is getting her very own special on E! called, "Kendall's Over-The-Top Sweet Sixteen Birthday - A Kardashian Event."
Ugh. This makes my head hurt.
Today the web has been brimming with reports of feared backlash against the Kardashians, what this tragedy will do to their brand and how their "empire" of fluff and celebrity endorsement will survive?!? But aren't we all responsible for feeding into it?
I can't help but feel that all this noise is calculated somehow, and that maybe they're secretly planning "Kim and Kris's Romantic Reunion -- A Kardashian Kristmas Miracle!"
Will you keep up with the Kardashian crew after this mess, or are you, like, so over it?
