Kelly Clarkson has beat Oklahoma all-star Carrie Underwood for the top spot in the 2012 Forbes list of top-earning "American Idol" veterans.

The top earners, according to Forbes.com. And there were never this many ties on the "Idol" show:

1. Kelly Clarkson: $8 million

2/3. (tie) Carrie Underwood and Daughtry: $5 million

4. Scotty McCreery: $4 million

5. Jennifer Hudson: $3 million

6. Jordin Sparks: $2 million

7. Adam Lambert: $1.5 million

8/9. (tie) Katharine McPhee and Kellie Pickler: $1.1 million

10/11. (tie) David Cook and David Archuleta: $1 million
