"American Idol's" first winner Kelly Clarkson is getting married and her new mother-in-law will be Oklahoma's Reba McEntire.

Clarkson's fiancé, as of Saturday, is McEntire's step-son talent manager Brandon Blackstock, son of McEntire's husband Narvel Blackstock who is also Clarkson's longtime manager.

"I'M ENGAGED!!!!! I wanted y'all to know!! Happiest night of my life last night! I am so lucky and am with the greatest man ever :)" tweeted @kelly_clarkson Saturday.

McEntire's reaction came the same way Saturday.

"@kelly_clarkson: You're what!?????? totally kidding! I couldn't be happier for you two. Yay!!! and a Woooohoooo!!!! " tweeted @reba.

Clarkson also showed off her engagement ring on whosay.com.

"Everyone has been asking about my engagement ring, so here it is :)

"It's a yellow canary diamond with diamonds around it and Brandon designed it with Johnathon Arndt! They did an amazing job! I can't wait to make Brandon's ring with Johnathon as well!" she tweeted, posting a photo of her wearing the ring.

Arndt also designed fellow American Idol winner Carrie Underwood's ring, according to usmagazine.com.

McEntire and Clarkson toured together in 2007 on the "2 Worlds 2 Voices Tour," on McEntire's "Reba: Duets" album and on the TV show "CMT Crossroads."

Blackstock, who has two children from a previous relationship and Clarkson have dated for a year and live together in Nashville, according to the website.

Is it Blandstock or Blackstock...or does the son have a different last name than his Dad????

It's Blackstock. I apparently can't type. I have fixed it. Thanx for the heads-up.

our newspaper needs a better proof reading department if they have one at all. This is only one of about 50-75 mistakes I have seen in the past week.

Rita Sherrow grew up with TV. Yes, it was the ever-present “sister” from another techno mother. At first look, it was instant "Like." From then on, the TV had to be on in every room while she studied, elementary school through college. An Air Force brat, she attended school in three states (Oklahoma, Montana and Georgia) and two foreign countries (Germany and Bermuda) and graduated from Broken Arrow High School and the University of Tulsa with a degree in journalism/advertising. She first interned in the advertising world but, when a J-School professor (who also covered politics for the Tulsa World) offered her an internship at the newspaper, she took him up on it. The rest is history. She has served as bridal editor, senior features writer for the women’s section, food editor and is television editor of the Tulsa World. In addition to writing about TV shows and interviewing the stars for “Scene” stories, she also writes a TV column for Weekend and produces the Sunday TV World listings magazine.
