It's true,
Kim Kardashian has confirmed this morning she is expecting a baby with
Kanye West.
This weekend, Kanye shouted out Kardashian as "my baby mama" at a concert in Atlantic City, before the reality-t.v. star took to Twitter today to confirm that "baby mama" meant she was really with Kanye's unborn child and the rapper wasn't just kicking that expression around for the heck of it.
"It’s true!! Kanye and I are expecting a baby. We feel so blessed and lucky and wish that in addition to both of our families, his mom and my dad could be here to celebrate this special time with us. Looking forward to great new beginnings in 2013 and to starting a family. Happy New Year!!! Xo"Sigh. Was that really how Kardashian wanted that news broken? Maybe...maybe. Hm, New Year's Day would have been better. New Year's would have put Kanye and Kim at No. 1 on next year's 'best of' list. Tsk, tsk, KimYe, this grab for media attention should have been contrived just a teensy bit better.
In any case, E! News reports that Kardashian is about 12 weeks along and the baby news comes following rumors that Kanye could be putting a ring on it in 2013.
The two have been dating since at least the spring of this year, several months after Kardashian filed for divorce from basketball player Kris Humphries, to whom she was married for 72 days in the fall of 2011.
According to
Hollywood Life, the divorce proceedings continue with a court date set for sometime this February.
Celebs have been tweeting their congratulations to the happy couple.
