The Broadway and Emmy-winning actress is recovering from a head injury sustained on the set of "The Good Wife" July 11. Chenoweth, who has a recurring role as a political reporter on the CBS drama series, was released from the hospital on July 12.
On Tuesday, her friend, fellow actress Kathy Najimy, tweeted: "saw @KChenoweth & fam. The damage was serious but shes going 2 B ok. long recovery 4 brilliant woman & even better friend.she asks 4 prayers."
The Broken Arrow native was scheduled to co-host Thursday's "Live With Kelly" but, according to playbill.com, she is at home recovering from "undisclosed injuries."
The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences has also announced an event Chenoweth was set to host is on hold.
"In light of the recent injury to our host, Kristin Chenoweth, 'An Intimate Evening with Carol Burnett,' scheduled for July 26, will be postponed to a later date.
"Carol Burnett and the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences wish Kristin a speedy recovery."
