Lagniappe: Good news and bad news on Friday the 13th

This T-bone seems MUCH tastier than the one I had this morning. But I'm alive and well -- and have potatoes at home! That's always cause for celebration.

I don't consider myself a superstitious person -- at least, I didn't before I was in a car wreck this morning on the way to work.

Long story short, a driver ran a red light while I was driving through a green one -- unfortunately, in the same intersection. I T-boned the driver, my airbags deployed, front-end totally screwed up, blah, blah, blah. And, of course, it happened on Friday the 13th.

On a brighter side, I've lost weight! I'm just not sure how much. On Thursday, I weighed in at WW and was told I'd lost .6 pound. Big whoop, right? Well, this morning after working out with Cole Slaughter at the Tower, I stepped on the scales and has lost 10 pounds. So go figure.

In the mean time, I'm sticking with WW and won't be succumbing to any stress-induced snacks because of this morning's vehicular drama. Not going to undo my hard work! Although a T-bone sounds mighty good right about now.

Peace, love and bad/good luck ... XOXO

Glad you survived Friday the 13th Jason and assume the other driver is doing well. I think I might call in sick next year lol.

Living Wright

While other kids were watching "The Smurfs," Scene Writer Jason Ashley Wright was tuned in to "Style with Elsa Klensch." By fourth grade, he knew he wanted to write, and spent almost three years publishing a weekly teen-oriented magazine, Teen-Zine -- circulation: 2. After earning a degree in journalism from the University of Southern Mississippi, he became the medical reporter and teen board coordinator for the Hattiesburg (Miss.) American, a Gannett newspaper. Eight months later, with visions of Elsa dancing in his head, he applied for the fashion writer position at the Tulsa World, where he began working on Aug. 3, 1998. He is now a general assignment reporter for Scene.
