Leave something to the imagination: CBS tells Grammys attendees to cover up for Sunday's show

Rihanna at last year's Grammys, definitely a step up from 2011 and her revealing sheer-paneled garland dress. (The Associated Press)

Jennifer Lopez's 2011 dress could work.

Barely. But it could.

But J-Lo's v-stomach (not v-neck) Versace dress of 2000 probably won't...or so it seems as Deadline reports that CBS has told this year's Grammy Awards attendees to put some clothes on for Sunday's show.

"Please be sure that buttocks and female breasts are adequately covered," reads the email Deadline obtained.
"Thong type costumes are problematic ..."

No thongs, Lady Gaga.
"Please avoid exposing bare flesh under curves of the buttocks and buttock crack..."

"Buttock crack." Wow. But that's pretty honest...
"Bare sides or under curvature of the breasts is also problematic."
Also: "Please avoid commercial identification of actual brand name products on T-shirts. Foreign language on wardrobe will need to be cleared," the email reads. "The network requests that any organized cause visibly spelled out on talent's wardrobe be avoided. This would include lapel pins or any other form of accessory."

And in all caps: “OBSCENITY OR PARTIALLY SEEN OBSCENITY ON WARDROBE IS UNACCEPTABLE FOR BROADCAST. This as well, pertains to audience members that appear on camera.”

If you remember, the FCC fined CBS $550,000 after Janet Jackson's “wardrobe malfunction” during the 2004 Super Bowl's halftime show.

The 55th Annual Grammy Awards airs live at 7 p.m. CST Sunday on CBS.

Fine, but they waited until just a few days before the event to announce it? Of course, nearly everyone has chosen their outfit and accessories months ago, and every detail is finalized. CBS should have made this known three months ago. It's very inconsiderate.

No, no, not really Snookie, but squeezed in amid the high and medium brow is the real and made up life that entertainment continues to air and create, which makes Bravetta ponder upon, sing with, look incredulously at, laugh out loud about and then return to reality and her other interests. The prospect of dabbling in all of it and exploring what she was hasn’t was enough for the Alexandria, Va., native to pack her bags and go west to Green Country.
