Express is having a HUGE sale on both men's and women's stuff now through Sunday.
Today's deals
: Women's shoes and accessories, men's and women's jeans, women's sweaters (like you need help with sweating right now, but still ...) and MARGARITAS!
Got an email about the big sale going on at Express in both Tulsa Promenade and Woodland Hills. Either print the coupon out at
www.express.com
, or text "MOBILE" to EXPRESS (397737) to get the offer, which is really good: $20 off a $60 purchase, $40 off $120 and $80 off $240. This deal is good now through Sunday. While you're there, check out women's sweaters 30 percent off; buy-one-get-one-half-off jeans for him and her; and the end-of-the-season (wishful thinking, huh?) clearance sale, up to 70 percent off for him and her (and taken an additional 40 percent off already reduced stuff). For more, call either the Promenade store, 918-664-4640 ; or Woodland Hills, 918-252-2279.
At Mary Ruby Apparel in KingsPointe Village, 61st Street and Yale Avenue, a summer sale is in full swing, with new markdowns from 30 to 75 percent. To give you an incentive to buy, get a free scarf with any purchase of $25 or more in sale items. And don't forget to visit
Connie's closet for the deeper discounts. Oh! On Wednesday's, they have margaritas, so woohoo! For more, 918-491-0808.
And at Lynette's at the Palazzo, 8222 E 103rd St., Suite 122, find up to 50 percent off all summer merchandise in the store, including shoes and accessories. For more, call 918-369-6640.
Peace, love and sales ... XOXO

My parents and grandparents tried to teach me "never buy anything at full price," as you said, from the time I was a kid. It took being an idiot in my 20s and racking up serious credit card debt to develop a smarter approach to shopping. I can't think of the last time I paid full-price for a piece of clothing.
As for outlet malls, I'm looking forward to the one opening next month in OKC. Hopefully, I'll be telling y'all more about that soon! In the mean time, stay cool ... j.a.w.

With this economy it's a lot easier to get great deals.

Living Wright
While other kids were watching "The Smurfs," Scene Writer Jason Ashley Wright was tuned in to "Style with Elsa Klensch." By fourth grade, he knew he wanted to write, and spent almost three years publishing a weekly teen-oriented magazine, Teen-Zine -- circulation: 2. After earning a degree in journalism from the University of Southern Mississippi, he became the medical reporter and teen board coordinator for the Hattiesburg (Miss.) American, a Gannett newspaper. Eight months later, with visions of Elsa dancing in his head, he applied for the fashion writer position at the Tulsa World, where he began working on Aug. 3, 1998. He is now a general assignment reporter for Scene.
