With over 2,000 diners, the Oklahoma Championship Steak Cook-Off is annually the largest steak dinner held in Oklahoma.
I just left the Oklahoma Championship Steak Cook-Off in downtown Tulsa where Tulsa Fire Station #26 won the firefighter challenge.
The cooks at that station, which is at 2404 W. 51st St., know how to make a flavor, tender steak. They also did not overlook the appearance of the steak and it had nice grill marks.
If you are interested in attending the steak cook-off, you can't miss it in the blocks around the Trinity Episcopal Church and tickets are available at the ticket booth at Sixth Street and Cincinnati Avenue.
Following the afternoon competition, ticket-buyers will then enjoy a steak prepared by one of the participating teams at 5:30 p.m.
Here’s a schedule of the remaining events for the competition today:
12:30 p.m. appetizer sampling begins (they work for tips)
1 p.m. music begins on the Main Stage
4 p.m. appetizer sampling ends
5:30 p.m. serving lines open
7 p.m. awards
