Linda-Mar Drive-In negotiating for Brady District spot

Owner Mike McCutchen says he hopes to have a second Linda-Mar restaurant operating in the Brady District later this year. MICHAEL WYKE/Tulsa World

Mike McCutchen, owner of the longtime westside burger joint Linda-Mar Drive-In, said he is in negotiations to land a spot in the Brady District to open a second restaurant.

"I can't say 100 percent that it's going to happen, but I think we are getting close to completing a deal," McCutchen said. "If things work out, it still might be a few months before we could open."

McCutchen said the interior would retain the same red and yellow color scheme of the existing restaurant, and the menu probably would remain unchanged.

Linda-Mar is known for its fried chicken strips, limeades, shakes and burgers, especially the Westside Burger, which includes double meat, double cheese, mustard, pickles, onions, lettuce and tomato on Texas toast.

Linda-Mar was one of 12 Oklahoma hamburger places included by author George Motz in his book, "Hamburger America," a couple of years ago.

A review of Linda-Mar Drive-In is scheduled to be published in the July 5 Weekend section of the Tulsa World.

Westside Burger. I recommend it!

Linda-Mar? Never heard of it before. Seems like it might be an odd fit for downtown especially in the Brady district.
