Maria Stevens of Portuguese winery J.M. da Fonseca will host a dinner at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Local Table, 4329 S. Peoria Ave.
The three-course dinner will feature wines from Spain and Portugal, including Twin Vines vino verde, a light, lively white wine; Faustino VII Rioja, a velvety red wine made from tempranillo grapes, and Domini Douro, a dark, full-bodied red wine made from a blend of three Portuguese grapes.
Dishes will include barbecue shrimp with cheese grits, curried red lentil and Swiss chard stew with garbanzo beans, pistachio-crusted lamb chop with Yukon Gold mashed potatoes and red wine-pomegranate sauce, and coffee flan for dessert.
