Lunch Box Tip

I used to skip lunch. Inconvenient, no time and usually when I did think about it, the clock was ticking around 3 or 4 and it was too late to matter.

Then a while back my wife decided my health would benefit from at least a small lunch, and she started sending me off to work with a sack lunch.

Sometimes this meant things like spaghetti or tomato soup in plastic containers that required some microwave action to heat it up the food. For me, this often ended with a blistered and/or discolored plastic container.

Then I picked up this fantastic trick; perhaps you already know it. Before putting the food in the plastic container, line the inside of the container with olive oil. Since we've started doing this, the containers don't blister and they get no more discoloration than a very faint red-orange, if any.

Thanks for the tip. I hate to microwave anything with tomatoes in a clear plastic container.
