Lunch with the Baroness of Boobs

Judi "Baroness of Boobs" Grove, the chairwoman for Turn Tulsa Pink, discusses the Tulsa County Sheriff's Office's new pink Chevy Tahoe at the agency's headquarters in Tulsa earlier this summer. The Sheriff's Office joined several other public safety agencies who have pink vehicles in support of Turn Tulsa Pink. MATT BARNARD/Tulsa World

My unofficial title is Marquis of Mammograms.

It was bestowed upon me by Judi Grove, founder of Breast Impressions and chairwoman for this year's Turn Tulsa Pink, which I'm very excited about (will tell y'all more later).

Anyway, Baroness picked me up for lunch in her newly pink-painted car, and we headed to Back Alley Blues and BBQ -- loved it. Had the chicken club with BBQ ranch on the side, which was great with the homemade chips. We'll definitely be back.

If you read this before 4 p.m. Wednesday, PLEASE go by Back Alley's Elgin Avenue entrance and have your car washed. It's all for a good cause -- raising money to battle breast cancer. Plus, you get a little somethin' somethin' in return for your generosity. So go! Run! Or, better yet, drive fast (within the confines of the law, of course).

Peace, love and boobs ... XOXO

Jason,
It's always a delight to be in your presence. Sorry if I went on and on about the upcoming Turn Tulsa Pink event, but I'm really excited how Tulsa County has gotten on the Pink Band Wagon with me and this will be HUGE! We have a website for turntulsapink and we are on Facebook where people can see what's happening and soon we will have a free phone app to boot!
XOXOX
Baroness Judi

Living Wright

While other kids were watching "The Smurfs," Scene Writer Jason Ashley Wright was tuned in to "Style with Elsa Klensch." By fourth grade, he knew he wanted to write, and spent almost three years publishing a weekly teen-oriented magazine, Teen-Zine -- circulation: 2. After earning a degree in journalism from the University of Southern Mississippi, he became the medical reporter and teen board coordinator for the Hattiesburg (Miss.) American, a Gannett newspaper. Eight months later, with visions of Elsa dancing in his head, he applied for the fashion writer position at the Tulsa World, where he began working on Aug. 3, 1998. He is now a general assignment reporter for Scene.
