If you are craving something sweet and crunchy for your Super Bowl snack, the Made in Oklahoma Coalition has a recipe.

They offered a recipe for Cinnamon-Glazed Party Mix using MIO products from Griffin Foods Company and Hiland Dairy Company.

The Made in Oklahoma Coalition promotes brand awareness and consumer loyalty for Oklahoma food and agricultural products. MIO represents more than 30 Oklahoma food and agricultural manufacturers that employ over 20,000 Oklahomans statewide. The coalition is supported by both private and public funds.

For more Super Bowl recipes, look at the Tulsa World food page in the Scene section on Wednesday.

Cinnamon-Glazed Party Mix

5 cups Shredded Wheat Cereal

3 cups Cheerios Cereal

2 cups chopped Oklahoma pecans

2 1/3 cups Griffin Cinnamon Roll Syrup

1 ½ cups brown sugar

1 1/4 cups Hiland Salted Butter

1 teaspoon Griffin Vanilla Extract

1 ½ teaspoons baking soda

1. Preheat oven to 275 degrees Fahrenheit. Combine syrup, brown sugar and butter in a microwave-safe bowl, and microwave on high for 90 seconds. Stir syrup mixture, then microwave 30 seconds longer or until mixture boils. Carefully remove mixture from microwave, and stir in vanilla and baking soda. Mixture will bubble and foam.
2. In a separate large mixing bowl, combine cereal and pecans. Pour syrup mixture over the cereal and pecans, tossing and stirring until well coated. Spread mix evenly onto a well-greased baking sheet.
3. Bake for one hour, stirring every 15 minutes. Remove from oven and spread mixture onto a large cookie sheet. When party mix has cooled, break into bite size pieces and enjoy!
Tip: In order to maintain freshness, store party mix in an airtight container.

These are the wrong measurements for Made in Oklahoma Party Mix. Way too much syrup, butter, brown sugar. MIO web site has the right amounts.
