Magic Acres Steak House, one of my top 10 new restaurants for 2010, has closed.

It was operated three nights a week by Marie and chef Ron L'Heureux, longtime culinary instructor at OSU-Okmulgee. It was located on the outskirts of Beggs and shared space in a quirky old building with a bar. And it was fabulous.

"We had some issues that couldn't be worked out with the landlord," Marie told me when I contacted her this morning by phone. "I think the owner of the building is opening a restaurant there.

"We are going to take the summer off, and then reevaluate in the fall what would be best for us to do. I already really miss seeing everyone, so maybe we will find another spot."

Here's hoping they do.
