A lot of buzz is being generated about the newest Marvel crossover event. With the X-Men and Avengers melding into the Uncanny Avengers, and Earth newly altered from the Avengers vs. X-Men saga, the heroes we know and love seem to be unable to catch a break.
Marvel released a new image for the 10-issue Age of Ultron crossover event scheduled to begin in March. It shows our heroes with what seem to be burn scars, Captain America as three scars over his left eye, half of Hulk and (who I can only imagine to be) Cyclops' body contain burn scars, and the Thing has impact craters in his body.
I can only imagine what this means for the story line.
Ultron debuted in Avengers #54 (1968) as an artificial intelligence in a super-durable body (made of adamantium). He is to Sentinals what Sentinals are to 1940s hand radios. His powers include flight, energy blasts, energy absorption, super-speed, extreme durability, extreme intelligence and more. He is essentially every Avenger placed into one body.
Bryan Hitch, Brandon Peterson and Carlos Pacheco will provide the art, and it will be written by Brian Michael Bendis. It heads into stores on March 13.
