Contestant Melissa Gilbert was rushed to the hospital during Monday's "Dancing With the Stars" following a fall.
The actress hit her head on the ballroom floor during a performance of a Paso Doble with her partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy but didn't indicate she was injured until after leaving the stage. Later, she complained of lightheadedness, dizziness and weakness, according to zap2it.com, and was carried out of the studio by fellow contestant Gavin DeGraw. She was transported by ambulance to Cedars Sinai hospital where she was treated.
"I'm alright," the 47-year-old actress tweeted a couple of hours after the show wrapped.
"Mild concussion and whiplash. Very soon I will be safely home resting and being taken care of," she wrote. She did not stay overnight at the hospital.
The former "Little House on the Prairie" star also thanked Chmerkovskiy "You are my champion. I adore you.” And sent a special thank-you to DeGraw "Bless your heart for carrying me down those stairs!"
Show host Tom Bergeron told the audience of Gilbert's injury at the end of the episode.
"She injured herself," he said on the air Monday night, "and as a precaution she's gone to the hospital to get checked out."
More details are expected on Tuesday’s live results show at 8 p.m. on ABC, channel 8.
