Edith and Guillermo Rojas outside their Casa Laredo restaurant in downtown Tulsa.

A new Mexican restaurant, Las Americas Latin Grill & Tequila Bar, will be opening soon in space that formerly held the Green Onion at 4532 E. 51st St.

"We hope to be open by Jan. 15," said owner Guillermo Rojas, who also owns, with his sister Edith Rojas, Casa Laredo Latin Grill & Tequila Bar in downtown Tulsa.

"We have installed some Spanish tile flooring and some wood flooring throughout the restaurant, and it is looking nice. We still have some outdoor signage to put up, but we are getting close."

The Rojas family has operated Casa Laredo restaurants in various Tulsa locations for more than 30 years.

Goes to show how credible KRMG's talk radio is. To hear them say it, the Green Onion was on par with Maxim's in Paris. I ate there once and it
was disgusting as well as unsanitary. I'm happy to hear that Rojas family
is opening a quality establishment there and anticipate many fine dining
experiences.
