TULSA TO DO
All but one of this week's picks for things to do in Tulsa are free. And, that one exception? It's just $7 for an Irish dinner. ...
You're not going to run out of things to do this weekend. It will be easy to keep yourself, and the kids, busy with happenings ...
A friend told me he had thought more about Woody Guthrie in the last few days than he had his whole life.
It's no wonder. ...

Tortoises compete in the 2009 race at the zoo.
Looking for something to do with your family Wednesday morning? Here's a fun way to break up the week: the Tulsa Zoo's Tortoise Race.
Slow and steady will win the race in this contest of the zoo's tortoises.
Here are the contestants:
- Flash, a 4-year-old Aldabra tortoise is last year's winner, and a zoo representative tells us he's in top shape.
- Diablo may be Flash's biggest competition. He's a wild guy both on and off the track.
- Turbo is the old pro. Some years he's in to win but other years he doesn't have his shell in the game.
The tortoise race is the lead up to the Tulsa Zoo's big Zoo Run, which takes place Saturday at the zoo. The run includes 5k and 10k runs as well as a 1-mile fun run. Registration packets are available at the zoo and at New Balance in Utica Square. For more information, go to

But until then, all eyes will be on the four-legged race.
