Monday Night Football weather forecast and Tulsa highs heading for the 80s

Tulsa got trace amounts of rain on Sunday. It did not include this "rain" pictured here. Stormy Hoggatt(left),12, Jamie Myers, Bryon Myers,6, and Kathy Sands cool off in the splash pad at Owen Park back on July 30. MIKE SIMON/Tulsa World

Dallas Cowboys at Oakland Raiders is 7 p.m. tonight (Oklahoma time).

The National Weather Service kind of combines the Oakland and San Francisco area into one big forecast map, so here's what it forecasts for that area tonight:

A high near 72 with 5 to 9 mph west to southwest winds. Into the night, increasing clouds, with a low around 58 and more 5 to 9 mph winds.

Oakland/San Francisco also has something called "patchy fog" forecast before 11 a.m. today (1 p.m. Oklahoma time) and after 11 p.m. tonight (1 a.m. tomorrow Oklahoma time) so you might see some fog enter the picture if the game goes really, really late.

And now... Tulsa!

The 80s

It's a sure-fire way to know that our days in the 100s are almost over, maybe. How many days, you ask?

June: 6
July: 18
August: 8

Our highest during those 100s days were July 31-Aug. 2. It was our little three-day streak of 112 highs. Each. Day. Ugh.

And now, we are on another three-day streak, which is highs in the 90s. Expect it to turn to a four-day streak with today included.

But, didn't my title say "80s?" Here's some fun facts on Tulsa in the 80s:

June 21: The last time Tulsa had a daily high in the 80s (83 degrees)

June 11-13: The last time Tulsa had more than two days in a row with daily highs in the 80s (87, 89, 87)

Aug. 11, 2011: The first exit from the 90s/100s of last summer (84 degrees)

And on that note, some bad news: Being in the 80s doesn't mean 100s are finally finished for the summer. In 2011, we reached the 100s six more times in August after that day in the 80s (and then twice more in September).

The good news? It took more than 3 inches of rain for that Aug. 11 high temperature in the 80s. We are probably not going to get that much rain to reach the 80s this year.

I guess that's not really good news.
