Oh to have been a fly on the wall at the post-Oscars parties last night.

While most celebs (excluding Jennifer Lopez) seemed to take a conservative approach to the official Oscars red carpet, they completely turned it out in fun, exciting gowns for the after parties.

Lovely shades of yellow, coral, reds, and pinks were happily floating around Hollywood into the wee hours last night. And those who are typically hit-and-miss-- Miley Cyrus comes to mind -- were fashion all-stars.

E! fashion expert Kelly Osbourne and Heidi Klum were stunning in yellow at the Elton John party. And Salma Hayek and Kate Hudson turned it up at the Vanity Fair party rocking in hot pink and red, respectively.

Some of the Oscar presenters even made daring costume changes, including La Lopez...but her glittering, long-sleeved gown still had a malfunction-possible plunge. Still it was an amazing choice. Wish she would have worn it at the Oscars.

Cameron Diaz was cheery in orange, and Emma Stone was stunning in a structural black gown.

If only some of these ladies had made these second options their first, we'd have had so much more fun discussing the inevitable fashion fallout.

I think they are so pressured to find "the perfect dress," that they are less likely to take any risks.

What do you think? Are these looks better than those on the red carpet?
