More holiday breakfast foods to share with the family

Here’s my plan for Christmas - eat breakfast or brunch and an evening or late afternoon meal.
Usually, it seems that there is always another meal to go to, make or consume. It results in so much food that it lessens the enjoyment of the food. This year my plan is to actually be hungry by the time I eat the next meal.
These recipes in Saturday’s paper that were provided by Taste of Home sounded like some good suggestions for the morning meal.
Here are two more. I am very interested in the turkey sausage patties.
Turkey Sage Sausage Patties
1 small onion, finely chopped
¼ cup dry bread crumbs
1 teaspoon rubbed sage
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon paprika
¼ teaspoon pepper
1 pound lean ground turkey
2 teaspoons canola oil
In a large bowl, combine the first six ingredients. Crumble turkey over mixture; mix lightly but thoroughly. Shape into six patties. Refrigerate, covered, for 2 hours.
In a large nonstick skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Add patties; cook for 6-7 minutes on each side or until a thermometer reads 165°.
Orange-Cinnamon French Toast
2 to 4 tablespoons butter, melted
2 tablespoons honey
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
3 eggs
½ cup orange juice
? teaspoon salt, optional
6 slices bread
Additional honey, optional
In a small bowl, mix the butter, honey and cinnamon. Pour into a greased 13-in. x 9-in. baking pan; spread to coat bottom of pan.
In a shallow bowl, whisk the eggs, orange juice and, if desired, salt. Dip both sides of bread in egg mixture. Place in prepared pan.
Bake at 400° for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown. Invert onto a serving platter; serve with honey if desired.

I recently bought a Panetone (Italian cake) at Aldi's...I've bought them before and really never found a use for them...Then I looked on the box this time, and it suggested making french toast with think slices of the Panetone cake. So, I did and it was fantastic. Custardy french toast with the plump raisins of the Panetone, and the bits of citrus gave the french toast something extra and special.
Try it the next time you have a Panetone (from Aldi's) and you'll discover a whole new world of possibilities with french toast!!!
