So, tickets go on sale today for the KISS/Motley Crue co-headlining tour, which rolls through the BOK Center Aug. 26. Get those HERE.

In the meantime, have a good laugh on me.

Here's a Jan. 10, 1990, letter to the editor of The Oklahoman. I wrote it after seeing my first "real" concert -- and reading the paper's review of it. I was 15 years old and a sophomore in high school. Motley Crue's opening act was Warrant.

I lost my voice during the band's performance of "Shout at the Devil." Apparently, I had no problem finding it in this letter.

My mom reminded me last night just how angry I was when I read the headline of reviewer Chuck Davis' story: "Motley Crue (in Concert) Isn't Worth Spitting On." Out came my pen! Thank you, Mr. Davis. And thank you, Mom, for keeping this for all these years.

For real.

PS: And, I still say "totally" and "awesome" a lot -- just not in my writing. Some things never change. ;)
