Veronica Reyes, who owns the new Mr Mambo restaurant in Broken Arrow with husband Martin, already has shown a knack for handling fidgety and upset young children.
"The kitchen staff knows what's up when I walk into the kitchen with a child in my arms," Reyes told me. "Sometimes it helps keep the child's attention for a while.
"I learned how to do this by watching my aunt for many years. She is really, really good with children."
Reyes' aunt is Edith Rojas, longtime co-owner of Casa Laredo, which now operates downtown near the new arena.
Mr Mambo is on the northwest corner of 101st Street and 161st East Avenue. I will have a full review of it in next Thursday's Spot.
