My Thursday playlist: Leslie Grace, Taylor Swift and Ellie Goulding

Ellie Goulding

Much as I loved The Shirelles' version of "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow," a song penned by the fabulous Carole King and Gerry Goffin, I've always been partial to Laura Branigan's cover from her album "Self Control."

I had a crush on the late-great Branigan in second grade because of "Gloria," which was kinda like my anthem back then. But where "Gloria" was a power-pop song, her melancholy version of "Will You Still Love Me" struck a chord with me more than any other version of the song, which has been covered by dozens of artists.

However, a close second comes via teen Leslie Grace, whose "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow," featuring half English-half Spanish lyrics, can be heard in a cute little black-and-white video ...

I'm also digging Taylor Swift's new single, "I Knew You Were Trouble" -- but not quite as much as I like the catchiness of "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together." Still, the debut song -- which came in at No. 3 on Billboard's Hot 100, thank you very much -- is kinda growing on me ...

My favorite song of the week, though, might be Ellie Goulding's new single, "Anything Could Happen." She kinda reminds me of a cross between Bjork and Lady Gaga on sedatives ...

So what is YOUR favorite song of the week?

Peace, love and sedatives ... XOXO

I'm living in the past this week, Jason. Stevie Ray Vaughan's "Life Without You" popped up on my iPod shuffle a couple of nights ago and I keep playing it over and over.

While other kids were watching "The Smurfs," Scene Writer Jason Ashley Wright was tuned in to "Style with Elsa Klensch." By fourth grade, he knew he wanted to write, and spent almost three years publishing a weekly teen-oriented magazine, Teen-Zine -- circulation: 2. After earning a degree in journalism from the University of Southern Mississippi, he became the medical reporter and teen board coordinator for the Hattiesburg (Miss.) American, a Gannett newspaper. Eight months later, with visions of Elsa dancing in his head, he applied for the fashion writer position at the Tulsa World, where he began working on Aug. 3, 1998. He is now a general assignment reporter for Scene.
