One of my favorite biographies was about British courtesan Lillie Langry. Hence my excitement over today's release of "Lillie," a classic from the golden age of the British miniseries in a new DVD edition from Acorn Media.
Here's the scoop: "In this sumptuous production, Francesca Annis radiates glamour as the famed fin-de-siècle British actress and courtesan Lillie Langtry. Smart, stunning and scandalous, Lillie proved a forerunner to modern celebrity idols. This acclaimed 13-part drama traces Lillie's fascinating rise from churchman's daughter to an independent -- and infamous -- woman of the world. Meticulously recreated costumes and sets, location filming and a 1,000-member cast make for a rare viewing experience. Fondly remembered from its PBS Masterpiece Theatre debut in 1979."
It's available through Borders, Barnes & Noble, Amazon and AcornOnline.com.
Peace, love and costume dramas ... xoxo
