My philosophy -- and yours, too

I've had a thing for Philosophy skin-care products for more than a decade.

Love the product names and packaging, and the scents of some of their body washes are simply fabulous. Shower with margarita, mimosa or daiquiri? Yeah, I'm there.

More than a decade later, I'm still a fan of Philosophy, which will launch at Dillard's Woodland Hills Friday through Sunday.

Through effective skin-care formulas, fresh scents and inspirational packaging, Philosophy brings beauty to the body and mind. Christina Carlino, the brains behind Philosophy, also founded medical skin-care company Biomedic, and uses this cutting-edge research to create Philosophy's effective formulations. With a head-to-toe product range that encourages you to feel good and live joyously, Philosophy is a fabulous blend of science and fun.

But back to Dillard's. If you come in Friday through Sunday while they're celebrating the launch, you can experience a mini-facial, oxygen peel, samples and more. And with any $75 Philosophy purchase, you'll receive a free gift bag containing some of Philosophy's most requested products. Be sure to check out their famous Hope in a Jar moisturizer while you're there, as well as their awesome men's products.

Book your appointment for a complimentary facial or peel by calling 252-1890 -- just ask for the Philosophy counter.

Peace, love and skin care ... xoxo

Living Wright

While other kids were watching "The Smurfs," Scene Writer Jason Ashley Wright was tuned in to "Style with Elsa Klensch." By fourth grade, he knew he wanted to write, and spent almost three years publishing a weekly teen-oriented magazine, Teen-Zine -- circulation: 2. After earning a degree in journalism from the University of Southern Mississippi, he became the medical reporter and teen board coordinator for the Hattiesburg (Miss.) American, a Gannett newspaper. Eight months later, with visions of Elsa dancing in his head, he applied for the fashion writer position at the Tulsa World, where he began working on Aug. 3, 1998. He is now a general assignment reporter for Scene.
