"Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve With Ryan Seacrest 2013," aired Tuesday on ABC, channel 8. LOU ROCCO/ABC

In its first year since the death of the legendary producer Dick Clark, ABC's broadcast of "Dick Clark's Primetime New Year's Rockin' Eve With Ryan Seacrest" posted its best ratings numbers in 12 years, reports deadline.com.

Clark, who died April 18 of a heart attack following prostate surgery, would have been pleased. The 82-year-old TV legend and former host/producer of "American Bandstand" had served as producer and host of the "New Year's Rockin' Eve" specials since 1972.

This year's event, broadcasting celebrations from both the East and West coasts, drew 13.3 million viewers. It followed the popular "New Year's Rockin' Eve Celebrates Dick Clark" special from 7-9 p.m.

Finishing second in the ratings Monday night was "New Year's Eve With Carson Daly" on NBC. It drew 3.8 million viewers, according to the website.

CBS did not broadcast any primetime New Year’s specials. The CW had minor success, ratings wise, with its broadcast of the "iHeartRadio Music Festival" special, earning a .5 rating, reported the website.
