According to Zagat's "2007's Best New Restaurants (For You to Try in 2008)," the trendiest new eateries in Dallas -- the closest city surveyed to Tulsa -- are Bijoux, 5450 W. Lovers Lane; Central 214, Hotel Palomar, 5680 N. Central Expressway, and Fearing's, Ritz-Carlton Hotel, 2121 McKinney Ave.
The guide describes Bijoux as New French with prix fixe menus, Central 214 as New American from longtime local chef Tom Fleming, and Fearing's as Southwestern from chef Dean Fearing, who built his superstar career at Mansion on Turtle Creek.
It would be a good idea to bring some bucks or a good credit card along. Dinner for one with one drink and a tip is estimated to run $41 to $65 at Central 214, and $66 or more at Bijoux and Fearing's.
